ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ(ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ): ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಆಂಕಾಲಜಿ (ಎಂಐಒ) ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 81 ವರ್ಷದ ವೃದ್ಧೆಯೊಬ್ಬರ 40 ಸೆಂಟಿ ಮೀಟರ್ ಗಾತ್ರದ ಸುಮಾರು 6 ಕೆ.ಜಿಯಷ್ಟು ಭಾರೀ ತೂಕದ ಅಂಡಾಶಯ ಗಡ್ಡೆಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಆಂಕಾಲಜಿ ವೈದ್ಯರ ತಂಡವು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಹೃದಯ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧುಮೇಹದಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವೃದ್ಧೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅಪಾಯದ ರೋಗಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಸಮಗ್ರ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ತಯಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ತಜ್ಞರ ತಂಡದ ಸಮನ್ವಯದಿಂದ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣ ಸ್ಟೇಜಿಂಗ್ ಲ್ಯಾಪರೋಟಮಿ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಕ ಡಾ. ಸುರೇಶ್ ಕ್ಲೆಮೆಂಟ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ದಿವ್ಯ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಆಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಭಾರತ್ ಯೋಜನೆ ಅಡಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ರೋಗಿ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹೊರೆ ಕೂಡ ಆಗದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ನಂತರ ರೋಗಿ ಚೇತರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಮೂಲಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿವೆ.
ಈ ವೇಳೆ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಆಂಕಾಲಜಿ ತಂಡದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಡಾ. ಸುರೇಶ್ ರಾವ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿಯಂತಹ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ, ಪ್ರೋಟೋಕಾಲ್ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಜ ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ನಗರ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಈಗ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಗೂ ತಲುಪುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಎಂಐಒ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ವೈದ್ಯರ ತಂಡದ ಸಾಧನೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವತ್ತ ಎಂಐಒ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಈ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
Shivamogga (Thirthahalli): The Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO) Thirthahalli Hospital has achieved a unique feat by successfully removing a 40 cm in size and weighing about 6 kg from the ovary of an 81-year-old woman.
Although the elderly woman was a high-risk patient suffering from heart-related problems and diabetes, the complex staging laparotomy surgery was successfully performed with comprehensive medical preparation and coordination of a team of experts.
The surgery was performed under the leadership of Chief Surgeon Dr. Suresh Clement D’Souze along with Dr. Divya Jyoti.
The treatment was provided under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the hospital management performed the surgery in a way that did not cause any financial burden to the patient’s family. Hospital sources said that the patient is recovering after the surgery and his health condition is stable.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Suresh Rao, Head of the Oncology Team at Thirthahalli, said that such a major surgery has proven that it is possible to provide high-level, protocol-based cancer treatment in a rural area like Thirthahalli. City-level treatment is now reaching rural areas as well. He praised the achievement of the team of doctors at MIO Hospital.
He said that this successful surgery clearly shows that MIO Thirthahalli Center has taken a significant step towards providing high-quality cancer treatment in rural areas.
