ಕಾರವಾರ: ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ವತಿಯಿಂದ 21 ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಕೋಟಿಗೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಮೊತ್ತದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳು ವಿವಿಧ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಖಾತೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ವಿ. ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕಾರವಾರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ತಾಳಗುಪ್ಪ-ಸಿರಸಿ- ಹುಬ್ಬಳಿ 158 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಉದ್ದದ ಹೊಸ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ಆಗಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಳಗುಪ್ಪ ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ಹೊಸ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಒಟ್ಟು ಸುಮಾರು 21 ಸಾವಿರ ಕೋಟಿ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಭಟ್ಕಳ, ಮುರ್ಡೇಶ್ವರ, ಗೋಕರ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊನ್ನಾವರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ- ಅಂಕೋಲಾ ನಡುವಿನ 164 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಉದ್ದದ ನೂತನ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು 16,500 ಕೋಟಿ
ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸರ್ವೆ , ಡಿಪಿಆರ್, ಫಾರೆಸಟ್ ಕ್ಲಿಯರೆನ್ಸ್ ಕೂಡ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಕ್ಲಿಯರೆನ್ಸ್ ಬಾಕಿ ಇದೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ6 ತಿಂಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಸಿಗುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇದೆ. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯಿಂದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾನೂಕುಲ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. 1997- 98 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಅಂಕೋಲಾ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ಕಲ್ಲಘಟಗಿವರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕೆಲವು ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಂತು ಹೊಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ 2,530 ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗ ಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಕೊಂಕಣ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ವಿಲೀನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಚರ್ಚೆಯ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಅವುಗಳ ಆಗುಹೋಗಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಬಹುತೇಕ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳು ಆಧುನೀಕರಣಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಕೊಂಕಣ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲು ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ದಾಂಡೇಲಿಯ ಅಂಬೇವಾಡಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ತಿಂಗಳನಿಂದ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಂಚಾರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದರು.
ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಆಶಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್, ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸಂಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ದಿಲೀಪ್ ಡಿ. ಭಟ್, ಹಿರಿಯ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಉದಯ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ್, ,ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ವಿಜಯ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸುಧಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರ ಪ್ರದೀಪ್ ಬಾಳಿಗ ಇದ್ದರು.
Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna said that the Railway Department is carrying out works worth over Rs 21,000 crore in various stages in Uttara Kannada district.
Speaking after visiting Karwar Railway Station, he said that the new 158 km long Talaguppa-Sirasi-Hubli route with the aim of connecting Malnad and the plains has been approved by the Railway Board and is yet to be approved by the Cabinet. He said that a total of about Rs 21,000 crore is being spent on this project and the new Talaguppa-Honnavar route.
Modernization work has begun on Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Gokarna and Honnavar railway stations in Uttara Kannada district. A new 164 km long project between Hubli-Ankola in Uttara Kannada district is being carried out by the Railway Department at a cost of Rs 16,500 crore. The survey, DPR and forest clearance have already been completed, while wildlife clearance is pending. It is expected that this will be resolved within 6 months. This project will not harm the Western Ghats in any way. The Hubballi-Ankola railway project, which was started in 1997-98, was extended up to Kallaghatgi, but due to some reasons, it was stalled and this project requires 2,530 acres of land.
The merger process of Konkan Railway is under discussion and its pros and cons are being discussed. Most of the railway stations of the railway are being modernized and steps have been taken to modernize Konkan Railway stations. Railway traffic to Ambewadi in Dandeli will be started from next month, he said.
Regional Railway Manager Asha Shetty, Chief Engineer Prakash, Senior Regional Traffic Manager Dilip D. Bhat, Senior Engineer Udaya Bhaskar, Chief Engineer Vijay Kumar, Public Relations Officer Sudha Krishnamurthy, Senior Regional Economic Advisor Pradeep Baliga were present.
