ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಂ: ಉತ್ತರ ಲ್ಹೋನಾಕ್ ಸರೋವರ ಬಳಿ ಮೇಘಸ್ಫೋಟ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಸರೋವರ ಉಕ್ಕಿಹರಿದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ತೀಸ್ತಾ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಿಡೀರ್ ಪ್ರವಾಹದಿಂದಾಗಿ 10 ಮಂದಿ ಬಲಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸೇನೆ 23 ಯೋಧರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 82 ಮಂದಿ ನಾಪತ್ತೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 14 ಸೇತುವೆ ಕುಸಿದಿದ್ದು, 3 ಸಾವಿರ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗಳು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.
ಬುಧವಾರ ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಜಾವ ಮೇಘ ಸ್ಫೋಟ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದ್ದು, ರಭಸದ ನೀರು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜಲವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಯೋಜನೆ ಎನಿಸಿದ ಚುಂಗ್‍ತಂಗ್ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಭಾಗವು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಕೆಳ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಉಲ್ಬಣಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಅಸ್ಸಾಂ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಈ ದುರಂತವನ್ನು ವಿಕೋಪ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಡಿ ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕ ವಿಕೋಪ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.
10 people died due to flood in Teesta river as a result of cloud explosion near North Lhonak lake and 82 people including 23 soldiers of Indian Army went missing in the incident. 14 bridges have collapsed and 3,000 tourists are stranded in different parts of the state, senior officials said.
On Wednesday morning, there was a cloudburst and the rapid water washed away a part of Chungthang Dam, the largest hydroelectric project in the state. Due to this, the flood situation worsened in the lower part of the dam. The Assam government has declared the disaster as a natural calamity under the Disaster Management Act.
