ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಅಹಿಂಸಾ ಚಳವಳಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇಶದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿ, ಗುಲಾಮಗಿರಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರತಂದ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರ ಜೀವನವೇ ಅಧ್ಯಯನದ ಪಾಠ ಶಾಲೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂಸದ ನಳಿನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಕಟೀಲ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ಙಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ವಾರ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ, ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾರತ ಸೇವಾದಳದ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರದ ರಾಜಾಜಿ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪಿತ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಅವರ 154 ನೇ ಜಯಂತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಅವರ ಪುತ್ಥಳಿಗೆ ಪುಷ್ಪನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಗಾಂಧಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಚಿಂತನೆ, ವಿಚಾರಧಾರೆ. ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕನಸು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿ ದುಶ್ಚಟಗಳಿಂದ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಆಶಯ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಉನ್ನತಿಯ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ವದೇಶಿ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಗೆ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ನಡವಳಿಕೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದವರು ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ. ಲಾಲ್‌ಬಹಾದ್ದೂರ್ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಅವರು ಜೈ ಜವಾನ್ ಜೈ ಕಿಸಾನ್ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇಶದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದರು.
ಶಾಸಕ ವೇದವ್ಯಾಸ ಕಾಮತ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಶಾಂತಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಚಳವಳಿ ನಡೆಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದವರು ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ. ಸರಳತೆ, ಸತ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಅವರ ಆಶಯದಂತೆ ನಡುರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಒಬ್ಬಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವ ರಾಮರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕನಸನ್ನು ನನಸಾಗಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಮೇಯರ್ ಸುಧೀರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ಸಿಇಒ ಡಾ. ಆನಂದ, ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಅನುಪಮ್ ಅಗರ್ವಾಲ್, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ವರಿಷ್ಠಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ರಿಷ್ಯಂತ್ ಸಿ.ಬಿ., ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಡಾ. ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಆನಂದ್, ಭಾರತ್ ಸೇವಾದಳದ ಬಶೀರ್ ಬೈಕಂಪಾಡಿ, ಸುಧೀರ್ ಟಿ.ಕೆ., ಮಂಜೇಗೌಡ, ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ ಶ್ರೀಯಾನ್, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಗಣ್ಯರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪಿತ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ ಅವರ ಭಾವಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಪ ನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ವಾರ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆ, ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪದವಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾದ ಬಾಪೂಜಿ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸೇವಾದಳದ ಬಶೀರ್ ಬೈಕಂಪಾಡಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ವಾರ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ರವಿರಾಜ್ ಎಚ್.ಜಿ. ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಸೇವಾದಳದ ಮಂಜೇಗೌಡ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who united the people of the country through non-violence movement and brought them out of slavery, is a school of study.
He spoke at the 154th Jayanti program of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajaji Park in the city under the aegis of South Kannada District Information and Public Relations Department, District Administration, District Panchayat, Mahanagara Palika and District Bharat Seva Dal.
Gandhi means a thought, an ideology. Mahatma Gandhi, who dreamed of utopia in the country, hoped to free the country from evils. He emphasized on Swadeshi concept with the idea of national upliftment. Gandhiji advocated building a healthy nation through cleanliness through his behavior. Lal Bahadur Shastri had given strength to the country’s economy by saying Jai Jawan Jai Kisan.
MLA Veda Vyasa Kamath spoke and said that it was Gandhiji who showed that a movement can be carried out through peace. He said that the dream of utopia where a woman can walk alone even in the middle of the night should be realized as per the wish of Gandhiji who showed that there is no need for fear in the path of simplicity and truth.
Mayor Sudhir Shetty, District Panchayat CEO Dr. Anand, City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, District Superintendent of Police Rishyant C.B., Additional District Commissioner Dr. Santosh Kumar, Corporation Commissioner Anand, Bashir Baikampadi of Bharat Seva Dal, Sudhir TK, Manje Gowda, Prabhakara Sriyan, local people representatives, officials, dignitaries paid floral tributes to the portrait of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Bapuji Essay Competition conducted by the Information and Public Relations Department at the district level for high school, PUC and graduate students.
