ಕಾರವಾರ: ಟನಲ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ಜನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಗಣಪತಿ ಉಳ್ವೇಕರ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಟನಲ್‌ ಸಂಚಾರ ಮುಕ್ತ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನೂರಾರು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಜನರು ಜಮಾವಣೆಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಟನಲ್‌ ಆರಂಭಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಜನರು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತದ ವಿರುದ್ದ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ಹಾಗೂ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಸುಮಾರು 10 ಗಂಟೆಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾನಿರತರು ಧರಣಿ ಕುಳಿತರು. ಆದರೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ಇದ್ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕ್ಯಾರೆ ಎಂದಿಲ್ಲ. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯಿಂದ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಸಂಜೆಯವರಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಟನಲ್‌ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಕಲ್ಲು, ಬ್ಯಾರಿಕೇಡ್ ತೆರವಿಗೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತಡೆದರು. ಮಳೆಯ ಅಬ್ಬರದ ನಡುವೆ ಕೂಡ ನನರು ಟನಲ್‌ ಆರಂಭಿಸುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಟನಲ್‌ ಎದುರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದವರ ಮನವೊಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಂಜೆಗೆ ಖುದ್ದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಗಂಗುಬಾಯಿ ಮಾನಕರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ ವರಿಷ್ಠಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಬಂದರು. ಟನಲ್‌ ಸಂಚಾರ ಆರಂಭ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ವಾಪಸ್‌ ಪಡೆಯಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಗಣಪತಿ ಉಳ್ವೇಕರ್ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ ನೀಡಿದ ದಾಖಲೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಕರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಎರಡು ದಿನ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಿ, ಅಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ದಾಖಲೆ ಪಡೆದು ಟನಲ್‌ ಸಂಚಾರ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಮಾನಕರ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾನಿರತರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಗಣಪತಿ ಉಳ್ವೇಕರ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಟನಲ್‌ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೂಕ್ತವೆಂದು ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ಯಾಗ್ಯೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ಮೀನಮೇಷ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಟನಲ್‌ ಆರಂಭವಾಗದೇ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಸವಾರರು ಅಪಘಾತದಿಂದ ಸಾವು ಸಂಭಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಉಸ್ತುವಾರಿ ಸಚಿವ ಮಂಕಾಳ ವೈದ್ಯ, ಶಾಸಕ ಸತೀಶ ಸೈಲ್ ಅವರ ಸ್ವಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಜನ ಶೋಷಣೆ ಅನುಭಿಸುವಂತೆ ಆಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ಹೊರಹಾಕಿದರು.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಮುಂದಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ನಗರಸಭೆ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಡಾ.ನಿತಿನ್ ಪಿಕಳೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವರನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಜೀಪ್‌ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತಿಸಿದರು. ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಉಳ್ವೇಕರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಮುಂದಾದಾಗ ಅವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ತಾನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಬೇರೆ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹಿಡಿದರು.
ನಗರಸಭೆ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಪಿ.ಪಿ.ನಾಯ್ಕ, ಮಾಲಾ ಹುಲಸ್ವಾರ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಸ್ಕರ ನಾರ್ವೇಕರ್, ಎಲ್.ಕೆ.ನಾಯ್ಕ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
The district administration has not given up on the struggle to open the tunnel for public traffic. Hundreds of people had gathered under the leadership of Vidhan Parishad member Ganapathy Ulvekar to open the tunnel for traffic.
People raised slogans against the district administration saying that the tunnel should be started. The protestors sat on a sit-in for more than 10 hours. But the district administration is not concerned about this. Held from morning to evening. In the morning, the police stopped the protesters who tried to clear the stone and barricade placed in front of the tunnel. Even in the midst of heavy rain, people protested to start the tunnel.
District Collector Gangubai Manakar and District Superintendent of Police personally came in the evening to persuade those who were protesting in front of the tunnel. Ganapati Ulvekar expressed outrage that the protest was not withdrawn for those who started tunnel traffic.
The record given by the National Highways Authority is not satisfactory. District Collector Manakar told the protestors that two days will be given and by then the documents will be obtained and tunnel traffic will be freed.
Vidhan Parishad member Ganapathy Ulvekar said that the district administration is playing tricks on the tunnel even though it has given a certificate that it is suitable for traffic. As the tunnel has not started, the riders are dying due to accidents every day. In-charge Minister Mankala Vaidya, MLA Satish Sail expressed outrage that people are being exploited because of their prestige.
Municipal council member PP Naik, Mala Hulaswara, BJP leader Bhaskara Narvekar, LK Naik and many others participated in the protest.
